Right: the first stage was to lift the moreor-less intact aircraft off the plinth so as to be able to dismantle it on the ground. Unfortunately the 30-ton Air National Guard crane proved to be not strong enough, so a 60-ton lifting capacity was brought in to complete the job. [via Harry Friedman] |
