File copies of two pages showing Operations Order 69, sent by telex from Wing HQ to the 91st BG on 5th December 1942 in preparation for the raid on Lille, coded target Z-183 ‘B’ the next day. These pages demonstrate the level of detail and depth of preparation that was undertaken before the Bomb Groups were even aware of the mission. These orders could be and were cancelled at a moments notice if circumstances such as weather conditions were to change. |
